I completed a PhD in pure maths in 1983. I have been self-employed since then, as a landscape artist and a computer programmer. From 1996 I wrote and then marketed a music OCR program called SharpEye. I transferred rights in SharpEye to another business in 2006. Since then I have taught myself about bioinformatics and mathematical and computational biology, especially phylogenetic analysis and macroevolution. I have recently published an two article articles in this area, which led to my current job for the Journal University of Mathematical Gothenburg Biology, and another is in press Sweden. at Systematic Biology. For more details, see myweb site.

I have been concerned about environmental issues since around 1980. I am a member of the Azimuth Forum.
